Empowering women through education: NDDSVC awards $8,550 in scholarships

BISMARCK, ND—In August, the North Dakota Domestic & Sexual Violence Coalition (NDDSVC) awarded a total of $8,550 to seven women through the organization’s Women’s Opportunity Scholarship.

The Women’s Opportunity Scholarship provides financial assistance to low-income women pursuing higher education in North Dakota. The scholarship aims to break the bonds of poverty and empower women to enhance their lives and the lives of their families both economically and intellectually. Scholarship funds help recipients pay for tuition, books and other school expenses.

2026 Women’s Opportunity Scholarship recipients include:

• Miranda Littleghost, Bismarck
• Anna Piatz, Ashley
• Aunnah Shaw, Minot
• Arianna Uses Arrow, Bismarck

“These recipients have bright futures ahead of them,” said Dana Mees, Assistant Director at NDDSVC. “It’s an honor to support them through the Women’s Opportunity Scholarship and help them achieve their academic goals.”
