Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a meaningful and impactful community event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. This powerful walk invites participants to literally “walk a mile” in women’s shoes — often high heels — as a fun and eye-catching way to spark conversation, build empathy, and stand in solidarity against gender-based violence.

The walk will take place on Saturday, April 11 at 12:30 p.m. during our annual Rec Show (April 10–12). Participants will walk one mile around the Ag Expo, making it an easy, accessible, and visible way for our community to come together for an important cause.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the McKenzie County Family Crisis Shelter, helping provide safety, resources, advocacy, and hope for individuals and families experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault in our community.

This family-friendly event is about more than just a walk — it’s about education, awareness, and action. Whether you’re walking in heels, sneakers, or boots, every step you take helps support survivors and shows that our community stands with them.

Grab your friends, coworkers, or family members and join us for a mile that makes a difference. Together, we can take steps toward a safer, stronger McKenzie County. ‍
